SIR Tom Jones was overcome with emotion after receiving a birthday message from legend, Stevie Wonder.
The Welsh crooner turned 80 in June last year, but Stevie recorded a belated video message for him, which brought Tom to tears.
Stevie’s messaged played during the premiere episode of the latest season of The Voice UK.
Tom’s fellow judge, will.i.am randomly asked if he had ever sung with Stevie and Tom admitted the pair were fast friends.
will.i.am then asked for a video to be played which showed the Isn’t She Lovely singer sitting outside in his garden.
Stevie pulled out a harmonica to play a short rendition of Tom’s It’s Not Unusual.

He became overwhelmed with emotion at Stevie’s sweet message
“I feel so very happy to congratulate you, as you celebrate 80 years on this planet,” Stevie said.
“I had the pleasure of not just meeting that person who sang that song, but meeting a new friend.”
The cameras cut back to Tom who had started tearing up.
“And I know that friendship will last for a last time. So many wonderful moments we shared. I love you with my whole heart, and I want you to promise me that you’ll do your best to give us another 80 years. Sir Tom Jones, god bless you,” Stevie finished.

A very emotional Tom, wiped tears from his eyes as he composed himself to reply to the video.
“That’s tremendous. He’s a wonderful person, it was a pleasure to sing with him. I hope I can sing with him again sometime,” Tom said on ITV’s singing competition.
The octogenarian recently revealed he’s had the coronavirus vaccine, calling it ‘the real deal’.
The 80-year-old singer chatted about the jab on Jools Holland’s Annual Hootennany show on New Year’s Eve, joking it was the only perk of his age.

After his live performance, Sir Tom revealed: “I’ve had the jab already. That’s one good thing about being 80, you’re first in line for the jab.
He continued: “It was fine – it was just like getting the flu jab,” assuring Jools that “it wasn’t a black market one, it was the real deal.”
Now protected against the virus, the Welshman said he was feeling bright about 2021, especially as he’s got new music on the way.

“I recorded an album just before lockdown at the beginning of the year,” he said. “During lockdown, we’ve been mixing it and putting it together.”
Adding it was due to be out this year, Sir Tom concluded: “That’s what I’ll be looking forward to.”
The singing legend is just one of many other stars who have announced they’ve received the vaccination.
Sir Ian McKellen, 81, Michael Eavis, 85, Lionel Blair, 92, and Marty Wilde, 81, are among the growing list of names.
